EAGALA is an Internationally recognized that was founded in 1991. EAGALA is the leading international nonprofit organization for certified professionals incorporating horses to address mental health and personal development. EAGALA's vision is that every person world wide will have access to these therapies known as EAGALA ASSISTED PSYCHOTERHAPY AND EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING. There are more than 600 programs and 4,500 members in 50 countries. EAGALA provides certifications for mental health professionals and equine specialists. The EAGALA Model is unique because it utilizes a team approach. The "team" is defined as one or more Equines (horses), a Certified Equine Specialist, and a Certified Mental Health Professional. EAGALA Model is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAP) which focuses on experiential learning through ground based activities.
